Renaissance School of Therapeutic Massage is located only 18 miles South of Hill Air Force
Base. We are close and convenient to Military families. We understand that the Military
personnel and Veterans have special needs. We are sensitive to them and are willing to
be flexible. We have had students that have come to our school to learn emotional healing
to help their friends and family members that have suffered from PTS. Massage is also a
great career for military families that move a lot. There are great opportunities all over
the world to apply your skills. In just 10 short months, you will be qualified to be an
exceptional Massage Therapist skilled in all aspects of traditional massage and the body’s
own natural healing energy.

We have 2 on-site counselors to help Military students and their dependants make
decisions about their life time career as a Massage Therapists. They are also available to
help with career placement.

Leave of Absence:

If military students find it necessary to interrupt their training at Renaissance do to being
called to duty, they may be granted a leave of absence until their tour is completed.

Withdrawal:

Military dependents whose families must move due to redeployment /relocation, will be
granted a withdrawal without penalty.

Military Scholarships:

Renaissance School of Therapeutic Massage will give a $500.00 Scholarship to all Military
students and their dependants spread out over a 5 month period.

Monday

Integrative Cranial I
Students learn to recognize movement in the diaphragms and how to release unorganized tissue in the diaphragms. Students will learn the different cranial bones and moves to help release stuck tissue and energy restrictions.

Meridians
Energy in the body flows in a river like system called Meridians. Each meridian energy is connected to a specific organ. This course teaches the importance of the meridian system in the body. Meridians are named after specific organs.

Tuesday

Tai Chi/Lite Touch
The energy techniques of Tai Chi will help to incorporate balance and posture for the practicing massage therapist, enabling the practitioner to prevent injury during the massage. Students will learn the basic principles for assessing and treating the physical and energetic body, and the various sites for stimulating acupressure points in order to regulate chi (the life force energy).

Wednesday

Swedish Massage
Fundamentals of massage theory and practice. This course presents massage terms, the benefits and history of Swedish massage, indications, contraindications, ethics, draping, and therapeutic value of touch.

Thursday

Pathology: Bones and Muscles
Students examine the pathological study of the human body and the probable causes for disease, including Skeleton Bones & Joints Disorders, Musculoskeletal Conditions, Skin Diseases and Nervous System Conditions. Taken concurrently with Anatomy: Bones & Muscles

Anatomy: Bones and Muscles
Basic structure and function placed on the muscle-skeletal systems including origin, insertion, and action of the muscles with nerve patterns.

Friday

Nutrition
The students will learn the basic concepts of health and nutrition and the powerful role and affect that good nutrition, or lack thereof, has upon the students. Herbs will be studied.

Business Law and Practice
This course will include business ethics, as well as state law regulating therapeutic massage in Utah. It is designed to aid students in the development of business skills that will enable them to set up and run an effective practice. We offer a 3 hour lecture of information on HIV/AIDS.
